301 To Have Loved and Lost

Stardate 51682.5

Stadi, enraged, runs at Weyoun, but is beaten and kicked down by Jem'Hadar. She picks herself up, but Weyoun has the Jem'Hadar grab her and take her prisoner.

Horah-Morash summons Lt. Cmdr. Tor (of the Tekindus shipyards) and the other junior officers still on New Lhasa to a conference with a holographic Lt. Veltr'a. Tor proposes applying minimal repairs to a Galaxy class frame in the shipyard to bluff the Dominion ship into back down, or distract while another team rescues Lyranna. Horah-Morash approves the plan.

Veltr'a takes the Stephenson back to the Dominion ship that was taken out of the fight but not destroyed, in order to finish it off.

Weyoun talks with Lyranna, and offers to see to it that her loved ones are spared in the invasion of Betazed. She does not trust him - Weyoun claims that he kills for calculated reasons and not out of simple malice. Believing that Kal is dead, she retorts that he is too late.

On the Galaxy frame, the Sitting Bull, several hundred members of the planetary defence force are used to give the scan impression of a fully staffed ship. One of the Hammurabi pool medics, Dr. Torrelan, sets up a field hospital in the shell of the Sitting Bull's sick bay. It is relying on a shield that might be able to take one hit, a warp drive without the ability to recrystalise Dilithium, and sensor shadows of weapons.

When the plan is executed, the warp drive gives out halfway accross the system. Horah-Morash explains the ostensible breach of treaty to the Tholians, who inform the Dominion. Weyoun does not trust the Tholians, and releases Lyranna anyway. Meanwhile, the Sitting Bull's warp core is breaching, and the ship is being abandoned. Tor's bluff has saved Lyranna, but at the cost of a Galaxy-class engineering hull.

Lyranna sends a message to Ashok, insisting that he returns to her.
