Ashok Quayn: Do you think I'm a villain? I've never done anything villainous in my life!
Stadi reacts to Petersen's allegations by going home and vomiting. Then - deeply upset - she tells Quayn what Petersen said.

Quayn enters Starfleet's buildings under the pretense of collecting some things from Stadi's quarters, and after waiting for Petersen to come to him, goes to Petersen's office. He accusses Petersen of disliking him out of species prejudice.

Stadi researches reactionary movements against victims of the New Lhasa syndrome and Valesus' "New New Lhasans", and discovers that five people had been forcibly kidnapped and treated with the antibacterial agents in the past few months. She also checks the census of the planet's Terabian population.

Petersen backs down and decides not to call the senior officers meeting.

Horah-Morash, now on his way back from medical care on Cestus III, communicates with Stadi. He asks her who should replace Mortimore and herself as acting Executive Officer. She excludes herself from commenting on Petersen, but praises M'Kress's performance.

Have you noticed how I don't actually need a plot all the time?
